Sparta
Sparta was a military city-state. It reached its power when Sparta defeated a rival city-state, Athens. The warriors, outnumbered by the helots (slaves) treated then badly. The helots, angry, rebelled until the Spartans were defeated at Thermopylae.
The Athenians were unique. It was the brain center of Greece and one of the first city-states. As Athens was dedicated to Athena, the wisdom goddess, they had temples to her all over the place. In Athens, The boys and girls wore clothing that looked much the same. Men wore chitons and girls wore peplos
